Glenfinnan Station Museum is located on a working West Highland railway station featuring the story of the West Highland Line and Glenfinnan Viaduct. There is a restored booking office exhibition, Dining & Sleeping cars, Viaduct trail and Signal Box demonstrations.  

The indoor exhibition provides interesting facts and stories about the spectacular Glenfinnan Viaduct and life on the West Highland line, while the outdoor exhibits tell the story of a rural Scottish railway station over the last century.

The Museum is on the Iron Road to the Isles and is a picturesque heritage site celebrating the work of earlier generations on the West Highland Line.’

Grantown Museum is a community run social history museum exploring the stories and people of Grantown from its founding in 1795. Located in the ancient province of Strathnaver, scene of some of the more brutal acts of the Highland Clearances, it is unsurprising this is the main story told by Strathnaver Museum. From the pulpit which dominates the main room Rev. Mackenzie was obliged to read out eviction notices in 1819. Of particular interest to those of Mackay ancestry is the Clan Mackay Centre on the upper floor of the museum. Don’t miss the impressive Farr Stone, dating from c.850AD, to be found in the graveyard or the Bronze Age Chealamy Beaker. Free maps available: Strathnaver Trail and Rob Donn Trail.
